A Lifeline for patients seeking quality medicines at low prices

New Delhi (The Uttam Hindu): The 'Pradhan Mantri Janaushadhi Kendra' at Shivpuri District Hospital in Madhya Pradesh is providing affordable, quality medicines to local residents and patients, earning widespread praise for its significant impact on healthcare accessibility. The medicines available at the Kendra are priced 50 to 90 percent lower than those in the market, greatly benefiting those in need. Several beneficiaries have expressed their gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi for the initiative. Sukhbir Yadav, who visited the Kendra for the first time, described it as a blessing for common people. “I was able to get medicines at a much lower price here. I want to thank PM Modi for this initiative,” he said.
Karan Singh Khare, a patient purchasing medication for BP and diabetes, was relieved to pay only 53 rupees for 10 tablets, a substantial saving compared to the market price. Dharmendra Rathore, a regular visitor to the hospital, also highlighted the affordability of the medicines, noting that he is now able to obtain necessary treatments at much lower costs.
Sushila Prajapati echoed similar sentiments, emphasizing how much cheaper the medicines are at the Kendra than in the market. The 'Pradhan Mantri Bhartiya Janaushadhi Pariyojana' scheme, which underpins this initiative, aims to make quality medicines accessible to all citizens. As Janaushadhi Kendras continue to open nationwide, the program is playing a crucial role in making healthcare more affordable and accessible to the public.
