Waqf Bill Controversy Turns Ugly: AAP MLA Mehraj Malik Beaten Up in J&K Assembly

Jammu (The Uttam Hindu) : There was a lot of uproar during the proceedings of the third day of the Jammu Kashmir Assembly. As soon as the proceedings of the House began, Mubarak Gul of the National Conference, Balwant Singh Kotia of the BJP and other MLAs stood up from their seats and demanded a discussion by the Speaker on their respective proposals. Let us tell you that NC MLAs are demanding to bring an adjournment motion on the Waqf Bill in the House. There was a fight between BJP MLAs and Aam Aadmi Party MLA Mehraj Malik outside the assembly premises. The speaker adjourned the proceedings of the House till 1:00 pm.

Malik made this allegation on BJP

There was a fight between BJP MLAs and Aam Aadmi Party MLA Mehraj Malik outside the assembly premises. Aam Aadmi Party MLA Mehraj Malik had actually reached the MLA gallery and was accusing the BJP of using the police to stop him from entering the assembly. Meanwhile, he told PDP leader Waheed Para that Mufti Mohammad Sayeed has brokered for the people of Jammu and Kashmir and PDP and BJP are in cahoots with each other. After which a heated argument started between the BJP MLA and Mehraj Malik and the argument escalated so much that a scuffle broke out between the two. During this, Mehraj Malik was pushed and he fell on the glass table. During this, all the MLAs were taken out by the marshals.

BJP said- Malik was abusing

BJP says that Mehraj Malik was abusing. Mehraj Malik was also seen shouting continuously and accusing the BJP leaders, after which this entire dispute took place. This sequence of fighting and scuffle started outside the assembly premises and reached the central hall.
