UP police nab 'Lady Don' linked to Delhi Burger King shooting incident
New Delhi (The Uttam Hindu): The Delhi Police have arrested a 19-year-old woman associated with gangster Himanshu Bhau in connection with a murder that took place at a Burger King in Rajouri Garden in June. The suspect, Annu Dhankar, dubbed the "Lady Don," was apprehended near the India-Nepal border in Lakhimpur Kheri, Uttar Pradesh.
Dhankar had been evading arrest since the incident on June 18, when 26-year-old Aman Joon was shot while seated with a woman inside the fast-food restaurant. According to a senior official from the Delhi Police Special Cell, Dhankar, a resident of Rohtak, Haryana, played a key role in the murder.
On the night of the incident, three men arrived on a motorcycle—one stayed outside while the other two entered the restaurant and fired approximately 40 rounds at Aman from close range, killing him instantly. During the investigation, police discovered that Annu Dhankar had lured Aman through social media, leading him to meet her at the restaurant.
On October 24, police received a tip-off about Dhankar's whereabouts near the Indo-Nepal border and successfully located and arrested her. During questioning, she disclosed her connections to gangsters Himanshu Bhau and Sahil Ritolia, who had promised her a visa and other documents to move to the USA for a lavish lifestyle.
Additionally, Dhankar was implicated in an earlier incident involving gunfire at the Matu Ram Halwai Shop in Gohana. On June 18, she had informed Bhau that Aman was coming to meet her at Burger King. After the shooting, she returned to her lodging in Mukherji Nagar to gather her belongings and then fled, taking a bus to Chandigarh and later traveling to Katra.
While in Katra, Bhau advised her to leave her accommodation. She continued her journey to Jalandhar and then to Haridwar, where she stayed for a few days before moving to Kota. Throughout this time, Bhau sent her money via a money exchange shop. On October 22, he informed her that the situation had settled and instructed her to leave her PG accommodation, suggesting she could travel to the USA via Dubai. She was directed to Lakhimpur Kheri for a possible crossing to Nepal when she was arrested by the Delhi Police.
