Lucknow (The Uttam Hindu): Ahead of the upcoming Navratri and Eid-ul-Fitr festivals, Uttar Pradesh's Director General of Police (DGP) Prashant Kumar has issued crucial security directives to ensure peace and safety across the state. On Saturday, DGP Kumar instructed that "rooftop duty" be deployed at sensitive locations with the necessary equipment to strengthen surveillance and prevent any untoward incidents. The directive aims to ensure thorough policing at key areas, especially those prone to disturbances during the festive period.

In his instructions, DGP Kumar emphasized the importance of increased patrolling, particularly on foot, around markets, crowded places, and important business establishments. Regular anti-sabotage checks are to be carried out to prevent any potential security threats. The DGP also underscored the need for adequate fire-fighting arrangements in markets and made it clear that animals should not be allowed near Eidgahs or mosques during namaz times to ensure smooth operations.

Further measures were outlined by the DGP, including the division of districts into sectors and zones for better management of security. Police pickets, static magistrates, and gazetted officers, along with an adequate police force, will be deployed at sensitive places during the festivals. Additionally, security arrangements at key locations such as railway stations, bus stations, markets, crowded areas, and entertainment centers will be strengthened for Ram Navami and Eid-ul-Fitr celebrations.

These enhanced security measures reflect the state's commitment to maintaining public order and ensuring the safety of citizens during the festivities.
