Three Lives Lost as Google Maps Leads Car Into Collapsed Bridge in Bareilly
Bareilly(The Uttam Hindu):The tragic accident involving three young men occurred in the Farridpur area of Bareilly district, Uttar Pradesh. According to reports, the victims were traveling to a wedding and relied on Google Maps for navigation. The app directed them onto a partially constructed bridge, leading to their car falling into the Ramganga River.
The deceased have been identified as Kaushal Kumar from Mainpuri, Vivek Kumar from Farukhabad, and Amit. This incident raises concerns about the accuracy of navigation apps, particularly in unfamiliar areas where road conditions may not be fully updated.
Such accidents are not isolated, as there have been multiple reports of incidents caused by misleading GPS directions. The tragedy emphasizes the need for caution when relying solely on technology for navigation. Authorities are urging users to exercise vigilance and use additional judgment when following directions provided by apps like Google Maps.
