Tamil Nadu (The Uttam Hindu) : In a blistering attack, Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Tuesday tore into the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) and its leader M.K. Stalin, alleging widespread corruption and dynasty politics. Addressing a public rally in Chennai, Shah launched a scathing critique of the DMK's governance record, accusing the party of perpetuating corruption and crony capitalism. "DMK's corruption is not just limited to one or two individuals, it's a systemic problem that has plagued the state for decades," Shah said, his voice dripping with indignation.

Corruption Allegations

Shah specifically targeted Stalin, accusing him of being involved in various corruption scandals, including the 2G spectrum scam and the gutkha scam. "Stalin has a degree in corruption, and he's been using it to loot the state's resources," Shah quipped, drawing loud cheers from the crowd.

Dynasty Politics

Shah also trained his guns on the DMK's dynasty politics, accusing the party of perpetuating a culture of nepotism and cronyism. "DMK's politics is all about promoting the interests of one family, rather than serving the people of Tamil Nadu," Shah said, his voice laced with disdain.

End of Dynasty Politics?

Shah vowed to bring an end to dynasty politics in Tamil Nadu, promising that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) would usher in a new era of clean governance and development. "We will not allow the DMK to continue its corrupt and dynastic rule in Tamil Nadu," Shah declared, his voice ringing with conviction.

DMK's Response

The DMK has responded to Shah's attack, with party spokespersons dismissing his allegations as baseless and politically motivated. "Amit Shah's speech was a bundle of lies and misinformation," said DMK spokesperson T.K.S. Elangovan.

Implications

Shah's attack on the DMK and Stalin is likely to have significant implications for the state's politics, particularly in the run-up to the 2024 Lok Sabha elections. The BJP is keen to expand its footprint in Tamil Nadu, and Shah's attack on the DMK is seen as a strategic move to weaken the party's grip on the state.
