New Delhi(The Uttam Hindu): Tesla, Elon Musk’s company, has begun hiring in India, with job openings in Mumbai and Delhi. This move comes shortly after Musk’s meeting with Prime Minister Narendra Modi in the United States. The recruitment includes 13 positions, such as Service Technician, Service Advisor, and Business Operations Analyst, mainly in Mumbai. The announcement follows India’s recent reduction of customs duties on high-value cars from 110% to 70%, creating an opportunity for Tesla’s growth in the country.

Tesla is looking for applicants for various roles, including Service Manager, Store Manager, Customer Support Specialist, and Consumer Engagement Manager. Most of these positions are based in Mumbai, with a few in Delhi. This recruitment is seen as a step towards Tesla’s expansion in the Indian market.

In Washington, PM Modi and Musk discussed strengthening the India-U.S. strategic partnership, focusing on defense, technology, and emerging industries. They also talked about cooperation in space, AI, and sustainable development.

To apply, interested candidates can visit Tesla’s official website, where they’ll need to submit personal information, including name and email. PM Modi shared on social media that their discussions were fruitful, emphasizing innovation, space, and technology. He also highlighted India's reforms and its drive for "minimum government, maximum governance." The Ministry of External Affairs confirmed that the meeting explored deepening ties between Indian and U.S. institutions in emerging technologies, entrepreneurship, and good governance.

Tesla’s expansion plans in India are seen as a significant step, aligning with the country’s growing interest in electric vehicles and technological advancements.
