Teen Girl Set Ablaze by Boyfriend in Heinous Attack

New Delhi (The Uttam Hindu): A distressing incident unfolded in Mumbai when a 17-year-old girl was deliberately set on fire by her boyfriend, who poured petrol on her. This horrifying event occurred around 11:30 PM on Sunday in the Marol area. The girl has sustained severe burns, with approximately 60% of her body injured, and her condition is critically unstable.
The accused, Jitendra alias Jitu Tambe, 28, is also hospitalized due to injuries he sustained in the attack. Reports confirm that the two were in a relationship, and the violent act appears to have arisen from a dispute between them. The MIDC Police Station in Mumbai has formally registered a case against Tambe under relevant legal sections. It has come to light that the minor girl was already married but had recently returned to live with her parents two months before the assault.

The girl has suffered 60-65% burn injuries, while Tambe has sustained 45-50% burn injuries. Both are in serious condition and are currently receiving urgent medical treatment.
