New Delhi(The Uttam Hindu): A tragic accident in Greater Noida claimed the life of station master Bharat Bhati after his car plunged into a 30-foot-deep drain while following Google Maps. The incident occurred near P3 Sector in the Beta Two police station area. Bhati, a resident of Mandavali, Delhi, was en route to a wedding when his car veered off the road and fell into the drain.

Upon receiving the alert, police and emergency responders arrived at the scene and worked to rescue Bhati. Despite their efforts, he was pronounced dead at the hospital. His identity was confirmed through an ID card found at the site, and his family was subsequently informed.

This incident is one of several accidents linked to GPS navigation errors. In December 2023, a similar mishap occurred in Bareilly, Uttar Pradesh, when a car fell into a canal while relying on Google Maps for directions. The vehicle was traveling from Kanpur to Pilibhit when it veered off course. Local residents informed the police, who successfully rescued all three passengers.

In November 2023, another fatal accident was reported in Budaun, Uttar Pradesh, where three individuals lost their lives after their car fell from an under-construction bridge due to misleading GPS instructions. These incidents highlight the risks of over-relying on digital navigation tools. Authorities urge drivers to verify their routes, remain vigilant, and stay aware of road conditions to prevent similar tragedies.
