Srinagar Police Crackdown: Major Raids Against Seditious Propaganda Spreaders, Seize Incriminating Evidence!
Srinagar(The Uttam Hindu): In a crackdown against individuals suspected of spreading malicious and seditious propaganda, the Srinagar police carried out raids in the Batamaloo and HMT areas of the city on Saturday, November 30. The operation was part of an ongoing investigation under Section 13 of the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act, registered at the Shergari police station.
A police spokesperson confirmed that the raids targeted suspects allegedly involved in inciting unlawful and violent activities by spreading fabricated and misleading narratives. The investigation focuses on individuals who, in collaboration with adversaries, were found to be orchestrating a campaign to provoke violence by disseminating false and twisted information.

Following approval from an NIA court, the Srinagar district police conducted searches at the residences of Obais Riyaz Dar in Bonpora, Batamaloo, and Sahil Ahmad Bhat in HMT, Zainakot. During the raids, incriminating materials and electronic devices were seized.
The police have stated that further searches will be conducted in the coming days at the homes of other identified suspects linked to the dissemination of seditious and misleading content. Authorities have urged citizens, especially the youth, to exercise caution when using social media, warning against sharing or uploading content that promotes false narratives or encourages unlawful acts, including terrorism.
