Reshuffle in Haryana police department; Alok Mittal appointed ADGP-ACB
Chandigarh (The Uttam Hindu): In a major reshuffle in the Haryana Police Department, the state government has issued transfer orders for two senior IPS officers, marking a significant shift in leadership. According to the official notification released on Sunday, Alok Mittal, previously serving as the Additional Director General of Police (ADGP) for the CID, Haryana, and the Additional Resident Commissioner at Haryana Bhavan in Delhi, has now been appointed as the ADGP for the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) in Haryana. He takes over from Amitabh Singh Dhillon in this important role. In addition, Mittal will continue his duties as the Additional Resident Commissioner of Haryana Bhavan in Delhi.
Faridabad’s Commissioner of Police, Saurabh Singh, has been reassigned as the new ADGP-CID, according to the notification issued by Sumita Misra, Additional Chief Secretary in the Haryana Home Department. Alok Mittal, a seasoned IPS officer, has held numerous significant roles throughout his illustrious career. Before this latest posting, he served as the Superintendent of Police in Panchkula from 1996 to 1999 and later worked in Delhi with the CBI’s Economic Offences Wing & Cyber Crime Cell from 2001 to 2005. Mittal’s tenure also includes leadership positions as SSP in Panipat, Faridabad, and Rohtak. His remarkable career includes roles as Joint Commissioner of Police in Gurgaon and Inspector General of Police in Rohtak, further solidifying his expertise in law enforcement. Mittal’s career further extended to being appointed the IGP Law and Order for Haryana Police and Inspector General of the National Investigation Agency (NIA) from 2015 to 2020 in Delhi. His leadership and experience make him well-suited for the critical role in the ACB, where he is expected to lead anti-corruption efforts across the state.
