New Delhi (The Uttam Hindu): Reserve Bank of India Governor Shaktikanta Das has announced the outcomes of the MPC meeting held in December, confirming that the repo rate will remain unchanged at 6.5 percent. This marks the 11th consecutive meeting where the repo rate has been kept steady, a level it has held since February 2023. Additionally, the Standing Deposit Facility rate remains at 6.25 percent, while the Marginal Standing Facility rate stays at 6.75 percent.

Addressing concerns about rising inflation, Governor Das emphasized that controlling inflation remains the central bank's top priority, with all efforts focused on managing it effectively. He also updated the GDP growth forecast, noting a reduction in the growth outlook.
