Purnia (The Uttam Hindu): Prashant Kishor, the architect of Jan Suraj, has claimed that the Muslim community in Bihar has supported the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) so far due to a lack of options and fear of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). However, with the upcoming assembly elections, Kishor believes that Jan Suraj presents a better alternative for the people of Bihar.

On his one-day tour across Purnia and Araria as part of the Jan Suraj Udghosh Yatra, Kishor addressed a press conference in Purnia, where he argued that while RJD focuses on securing 38 percent of voters, Jan Suraj represents the entire 100 percent of Bihar’s population. He noted that this 100 percent includes the 38 percent RJD claims as its base. Kishor stressed that a significant portion of the population, regardless of their current party affiliation, desires change and new options, pointing out that about 60 percent of people in Bihar are looking for something different.

Kishor Criticizes Pappu Yadav and BJP's Focus on History

During his address, Kishor also took a swipe at Purnia MP Rajesh Ranjan, alias Pappu Yadav, referring to him as a "rain frog," implying that Yadav’s role in Bihar politics is to croak during times of trouble without offering substantial contributions. Kishor suggested that Yadav’s victory in Purnia was more about the lack of active political engagement by his rival, Uday Singh, rather than Yadav’s personal influence.

On the BJP’s upcoming election campaign, Kishor sarcastically remarked that Union Home Minister Amit Shah and Prime Minister Narendra Modi would be "seeing the glorious history of Bihar" until the November elections. He speculated that until then, every central scheme would have its foundation stone laid in Bihar, and financial support for programs like the Kisan Samman Nidhi would be sent to the state. However, Kishor questioned the sincerity of the BJP's concern for Bihar, citing the example of Bihar's children working in factories in Gujarat for a meager wage of Rs 12,000 per month.

Focus on Bihar's Development, Not Gujarat's Growth

Kishor further demanded that Amit Shah take action to ensure that workers from Bihar working in Gujarat receive equal wages to their counterparts in the state. He also challenged the BJP to reveal how many Gujarati businessmen had invested in Bihar and how many factories had been established by the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) in the state over the past 11 years.

Kishor called on the people of Bihar to focus on their own development, stating that this election is about voting for the state’s future, not for the benefit of Gujarat’s growth. "This time, we have to vote for the development of Bihar," he emphasized.

As Bihar prepares for elections, Prashant Kishor’s Jan Suraj is positioning itself as a strong contender for change, urging voters to choose a path of progress for the state rather than sticking with old political allegiances.
