Patna (The Uttam Hindu): The health of Prashant Kishor architect of the Jan Suraj Abhiyan and leader of the Jan Suraj Party remains stable as he enters the third day of his hunger strike. Kishor is protesting against alleged irregularities in the 70th Bihar Public Service Commission (BPSC) Preliminary Examination which has triggered widespread student protests. Despite concerns over his prolonged fast a team of doctors led by Patna-based physician Avinash Kumar confirmed that Kishor's health is stable. He is experiencing mild dehydration and a slight sore throat but these issues are being managed. The doctors have advised him to drink two to three litres of water daily and recommended regular gargling to alleviate the sore throat. Given the cold weather the team has urged extra precautions to prevent further health complications.

Kishor's hunger strike which he is carrying out at Gandhi Maidan in Patna is aimed at drawing attention to the ongoing protests over alleged paper leaks and irregularities in the examination. This protest which has now entered its 18th day has gained significant momentum since Kishor joined the movement amplifying its visibility. The students demanding the cancellation of the 70th BPSC Preliminary Examination have alleged widespread malpractice across multiple examination centres. Meanwhile, the BPSC conducted a re-examination at 22 locations on Saturday which concluded peacefully. Kishor's hunger strike continues despite the harsh conditions underscoring his commitment to the cause.
