Political Earthquake: 48 Leaders Caught in Alleged Honeytrap Scandal

New Delhi (The Uttam Hindu): Karnataka’s political landscape has been shaken by explosive claims that honeytrap video CDs of 48 national and state-level leaders exist. These allegations have sent shockwaves through the state’s political circles. Cooperation Minister K.N. Rajanna himself responded to the issue in the Assembly, revealing that there had been an attempt to trap him as well. Speaking in the House, Rajanna disclosed that an effort was made to honeytrap him and clarified ongoing discussions about the scandal. He further claimed that there are video CDs involving 48 leaders at both the national and state levels, intensifying the political turmoil.
The honeytrap controversy was first raised in the Assembly by BJP MLA Sunil Kumar Karkala. Following this, a heated discussion took place in the Assembly on Thursday. BJP MLA Basangouda Patil Yatnal also brought up the issue, alleging that the honeytrap operation specifically targeted the Cooperation Minister.
In response, Minister K.N. Rajanna stood up in the Assembly and addressed Yatnal’s claims, saying, **"Since Yatnal has named me, I will tell you the truth. False information should not be spread publicly. It is being said that only two ministers are involved—myself and Parameshwara." Rajanna pointed out that Karnataka has often been referred to as a "CD factory" and emphasized that the issue is not limited to the state. "A honeytrap network has been set up even for national leaders. I will file a written complaint, and a proper investigation must be conducted," he declared.
Dropping a political bombshell, Rajanna stated that around 48 leaders from both state and national political parties have been caught in honeytrap scandals. "This is not just limited to our state. It involves leaders from various national political parties. There are 48 individuals in these CDs. Such things should not happen in public life. Whoever is involved must be exposed. The public deserves to know the truth," he asserted. Urging the Home Minister to initiate a thorough investigation, Rajanna demanded answers: "Who is behind this? Who created these CDs? The investigation should reveal everything. This is like a pandemic, and it must be exposed publicly." He concluded by stating, "I will file complaints against everyone involved."
