New Delhi (The Uttam Hindu): Prime Minister Narendra Modi, in his address at the 'Veer Baal Diwas' celebrations on December 26, 2024, emphasized the importance of equipping youth with skills in emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning to meet the evolving demands of the rapidly changing world. He highlighted the need for a forward-thinking approach to prepare young people for future challenges, stressing that this era has moved from traditional machines to machine learning, with AI taking center stage.

Acknowledging the vital role of youth energy in India’s progress, the Prime Minister reiterated his government’s commitment to supporting young talent and building their self-confidence. "AI is replacing conventional software, and it is crucial to make our youth future-ready to address these challenges," he stated. ‘Veer Baal Diwas,’ celebrated annually on December 26, honors the unparalleled bravery and sacrifice of Guru Gobind Singh’s four sons, who are among the most revered figures in Sikhism.

The Prime Minister noted that government policies, whether in the start-up ecosystem, space economy, sports and fitness sector, fintech, manufacturing industry, or skill development, were youth-centric and designed to benefit the younger generation. He further emphasized that the new National Education Policy has modernized education, providing a vast platform for learning. In addition, PM Modi announced the launch of the ‘Suposhit Gram Panchayat Abhiyan’ (Mission for Proper Nutrition in Village Panchayats), aimed at encouraging healthy competition among village panchayats to eliminate malnutrition, a key step towards building a developed India. He encouraged the youth to strive to make their respective fields, whether in railways, semiconductors, travel, or astronomy, the best.
