This year, Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi, has been invited by Mauritius' Prime Minister, Navin Ramgoolam, to be the Chief Guest at the National Day celebrations. Ramgoolam shared this exciting news with the National Assembly, expressing his pleasure about Modi's visit, despite his busy schedule. Prime Minister Modi's presence at the celebrations, held on the 57th anniversary of Mauritius' independence, reflects the close ties between India and Mauritius.
