Mohan Babu Family Dispute Rekindled

Hyderabad(The Uttam Hindu): The ongoing family feud involving veteran Tollywood actor Manchu Mohan Babu erupted once again when his son, actor Manchu Manoj, was denied entry to the family residence in Jalpally, Hyderabad, on Wednesday. Manoj, who had filed a police complaint against his brother and fellow actor Manchu Vishnu for alleged theft, arrived at the house but was not allowed inside. He was seen sitting in front of the closed gates while police were stationed outside to maintain order. The dispute began after Manoj accused Vishnu of stealing his expensive items and car while he was away in Rajasthan celebrating his daughter’s birthday. Manoj lodged a complaint with the Narsingi police on Tuesday, alleging that Vishnu, accompanied by 150 people, had entered his Jalpally home on April 1, taken his car, and assaulted his security staff. Manoj further claimed that his personal belongings were damaged in the process.

The car, according to Manoj, was traced to Vishnu’s house, and despite police intervention, it was sent to Madhapur. The tension between the brothers escalated over alleged property disputes within the family, with Manoj having filed complaints against both his father and Vishnu. The feud dates back to late 2023, when disagreements over property surfaced. Manoj had previously appeared before the Rangareddy District Collector along with his father over the issue. During the encounter, Mohan Babu alleged that Manoj had encroached on his property, and the two had a heated exchange. In response, Mohan Babu sought protection under the Maintenance and Welfare of Parents and Senior Citizens Act, asserting that Manoj had illegally entered his residence and was demanding property rights.

The situation became even more contentious on December 10 when the house in Jalpally was the scene of another clash, leading to police action. Mohan Babu and his sons were booked for criminal trespassing and causing harm. Adding to the controversy, Mohan Babu was charged with an attempt to murder after allegedly attacking a television reporter. In January, Manoj faced further setbacks when he was stopped from entering Mohan Babu University by the police in Tirupati. The family dispute remains unresolved, with both brothers continuing to face legal challenges.
