Mathura in Uproar: 40 Cow Skeletons Found, Locals Block Road in Protest
Mathura (The Uttam Hindu): The discovery of 40 cow skeletons near PMB College on Mathura-Vrindavan Road has taken locals by shock. Villagers, who had gone for a walk in the forest area on Friday morning, stumbled upon the remains of cows which seemed to have been skinned. Several other skeletons of cows were found around those areas.
The news spread immediately, and hundreds of villagers gathered at the site. Protesters carried the cow parts to Mathura-Vrindavan Road and blocked the highway, demanding action against those responsible. They alleged that unknown miscreants had mutilated the cows and left them in the forest. Despite repeated appeals by police officers to vacate the road, senior officers' arrivals could not prevail on them to clear the roads. At one point, a lathi charge had to be administered by policemen to disperse the resentful mob that had the police at its mercy.
After clearing the crowd, the police took possession of the cow remains for investigation. The incident has raised serious concerns about animal cruelty in the area, with local Hindu groups calling for strict action against those responsible. The matter is currently under investigation by local authorities.
