Abohar (The Uttam Hindu): Raids were conducted on Sunday night at several paying guest (PG) accommodations in Sriganganagar, Rajasthan, following a tip-off from the Delhi Police's Special Cell, which had arrested seven suspected shooters linked to the Lawrence Bishnoi gang. More than 20 individuals, including some from Jammu and Kashmir, were taken in for questioning, according to police sources. Information from the Special Cell indicated that five criminals associated with the Bishnoi gang had conducted two reconnaissance missions to target Sunil Pehalwan, the nephew of former MLA Raj Kumar Gaur, in Sriganganagar. Three shooters reportedly stayed in the area for several days. Authorities have also recovered a GPS tracking device from a suspect who was allegedly receiving instructions from Arzoo Bishnoi, a former member of the Lawrence Bishnoi gang now operating independently.

The initial team of shooters, including Badal, Sandeep, and Pramod, conducted surveillance around Pehalwan's home. Later, shooters Sahil and Amar took over the reconnaissance. Last year, on October 29, Sunil Pehalwan received a death threat from a gangster. Following his complaint, the Sadar police station registered a case and began an investigation. Pehalwan reported that he received a threatening call on his mobile, warning him not to take action against the gang members, or he would be eliminated. Although the police attempted to trace the call, the investigation did not yield further progress.

Authorities noted that Sukh Ram, a resident of Hanumangarh, had stayed in PG accommodation in the Purani Abadi area of Sriganganagar for three days and, along with others, conducted surveillance on Pehalwan’s residence and office. Speaking to the media, Pehalwan alleged that a local politician, with significant interests in mining during the previous Punjab government, had been supporting gang members due to rivalry with his uncle, Raj Kumar Gaur.Superintendent of Police Gaurav Yadav stated that a team would be dispatched to Delhi for further discussions on the matter.
