Kinnar Akhada Controversy Escalates: Himangi Sakhi Threatens to Leave Sanatan Dharma Over Internal Disputes

Haridwar (The Uttam Hindu): The ongoing controversy surrounding the Kinnar Akhada at the Maha Kumbh has escalated with a statement from Mahamandaleshwar Himangi Sakhi, the head of the Kinnar Akhada. Distressed by the continuous disputes within the Akhada, Himangi Sakhi has issued a warning, expressing her intent to leave both the Kinnar Akhada and Sanatan Dharma. She stated that the ongoing conflict has exceeded her tolerance, and she is seriously considering converting to another religion if the situation does not improve soon.
This statement follows an attack on another Mahamandaleshwar of the Kinnar Akhada, Kalyani Nand Giri. Himangi Sakhi clarified that although she is being accused of involvement in the attack, she has no connection to it. She reminded that she too had been a victim of a previous life-threatening assault, in which she sustained serious injuries but survived. She alleged that the attack was orchestrated by Acharya Mahamandaleshwar Lakshmi Narayan Tripathi of the Kinnar Akhada.
Himangi Sakhi spoke out about a power struggle within the Akhada and called for an immediate resolution to the ongoing conflict. She made it clear that if the dispute is not resolved swiftly, she would be compelled to sever her ties with both the Akhada and Sanatan Dharma and might even consider conversion.
It is worth mentioning that Himangi Sakhi, who became the first Kinnar Jagadguru Mahamandaleshwar, had raised concerns when Bollywood actress Mamta Kulkarni was appointed to the position of Mahamandaleshwar. Following this, she was attacked in an incident that left her severely injured. Himangi Sakhi held Acharya Mahamandaleshwar Lakshmi Narayan Tripathi and her associates responsible for the assault. Additionally, Himangi Sakhi criticized Mamta Kulkarni for resigning from the position of Mahamandaleshwar and then re-assuming the post, calling it ridiculous. She stated that such individuals have no real connection to religion or scriptures and are merely leading a superficial life, mocking the principles of Sanatan Dharma.
Furthermore, Himangi Sakhi accused the Kinnar Akhada of indulging in the consumption of meat and alcohol, claiming that several intoxicated individuals had entered her camp while under the influence of alcohol.
