Kasganj (The Uttam Hindu) : Kasganj Gang Rape Case Update: The police had an encounter with a miscreant accused in the gang rape case near Tatarpur late on Friday night. The accused was shot in the leg in retaliatory firing. The police have admitted him to the district hospital. The earring stolen from the girl has also been recovered from the accused. The girl from Nadrai was sitting with her fiancé under a tree near the bridge of Hazara Canal Jhaal on the afternoon of April 10. At that time a gang of 10-11 people reached there. They first made videos of both of them. After this they misbehaved with them. The accused dragged the girl into the bushes where she was gang-raped.

After this the accused snatched the woman's gold earring and five thousand rupees. They thrashed the fiancée and made him deposit five thousand rupees in their account online. The victim informed the police about the matter two days after the incident. In this connection, a case was registered against two named and eight to nine unidentified persons. The police arrested eight accused on the very first day. Three days later, two more accused were caught. The police was searching for accused Yogesh in the case.
Additional Superintendent of Police Rajesh Bharti said that SOG in-charge Vinay, surveillance and Kotwali in-charge inspector Lokesh Bhati got information that Yogesh, resident of Memri police station Kasganj, has been seen around Tatarpur. On this, the police started checking on Tatarpur road at 10:30 pm on Friday night. During this time, a young man was seen coming on an Apache motorcycle. As soon as he saw the police, he opened fire on them. In the retaliatory firing, the young man got injured by a bullet in his leg. According to the police, the youth caught is Yogesh, the accused of gang rape. The police have recovered the Apache motorcycle used in the incident, the girl's stolen earrings, pistol and cartridges from him. The police have admitted the accused to the district hospital.
