Meerut (The Uttam Hindu): In the high-profile Saurabh murder case of Meerut, the jail administration has fulfilled another request of the main accused, Sahil, and his associate, Muskan, who are currently imprisoned. The court has appointed a government lawyer to represent them. Additional District Judge and the District Legal Services Authority have appointed Advocate Rekha Jain to defend Sahil and Muskan in this case.

Through the Meerut jail administration, Sahil and Muskan had requested legal assistance from the court. Acting on their plea, the court appointed Rekha Jain as their defense lawyer following legal procedures. Udayveer Singh, Secretary of the Meerut District Legal Services Authority, stated that providing legal representation to the accused is a mandatory part of judicial proceedings. Now, Advocate Rekha Jain will present the defense arguments in court on behalf of Sahil and Muskan.

Notably, this is not the first request from Sahil that has been accepted. Earlier, he expressed his desire to get a haircut, which the jail administration approved and arranged. Jail officials stated that all inmates must follow discipline, and any valid request made by a prisoner is fulfilled as per the rules. Senior Jail Superintendent Dr. Viresh Raj Sharma confirmed that Sahil had voluntarily requested a haircut, which was carried out accordingly. However, he was not completely shaved, and the process was conducted strictly under prison regulations.
