New Delhi (Uttam Hindu News): Captain Karamjit Singh Bakshi a 25-year-old resident of Jhulu Park, Hazaribagh was martyred in an IED blast near the Line of Control (LoC) in the Akhnoor sector of Jammu and Kashmir on Tuesday. The blast occurred at approximately 3:50 pm while Captain Bakshi was on a patrol in the Bhattal area. Along with the Captain two other soldiers were injured and taken to the hospital but unfortunately, Captain Bakshi and Naik Mukesh succumbed to their injuries. The heartbreaking news was delivered to Captain Bakshi's father Ajendra Singh by the army. The body of the martyr is expected to reach Ranchi airport at 11 am today and it will then be transported by train to Hazaribagh arriving at 2 pm. According to the family Captain Bakshi's marriage had been arranged for April 5th a date now marked by tragedy.

Captain Bakshi who had received his education in Guwahati joined the army in 2023. His family shared that he had returned home on a week-long leave on January 16 during which he attended a family wedding. He left for Jammu on January 24 to rejoin his duty.

Ajendra Singh Captain Bakshi’s father runs a quality tent house business in Hazaribagh. When he received the tragic news of his son's martyrdom he was attending a wedding with his wife. Captain Bakshi was the eldest of Ajendra’s two children with a daughter who is currently studying. This devastating loss is a reminder of the ultimate sacrifice made by our soldiers in the service of the nation. Captain Bakshi's family along with the nation mourns the loss of a brave son who was not only a protector of the country but also a man with a bright future now tragically cut short. His story is one of courage, sacrifice and the deep personal cost of serving the nation.
