ISKCON temple employee absconds with donations and receipt book: FIR filed
Indore (The Uttam Hindu): An employee of the ISKCON temple who was responsible for collecting donated money from devotees has absconded with a large sum of money and a receipt book, according to temple officials on Saturday. The temple's Chief Finance Officer, Vishwa Nam Das filed an FIR late on Friday night stating the employee's role was to collect donations and deposit them with temple authorities periodically.
Superintendent of Police (City) Arvind Kumar, confirmed that a primary investigation had been conducted after receiving an application about the alleged theft from Das on December 27. Temple PRO Ravi Lochan Das mentioned that Murlidhar Das, the employee who absconded was assigned to collect the donations and ensure they were deposited regularly with the temple authorities. "After further investigation the exact amount he had deposited in the temple will be determined," he said.
As per the FIR, Murlidhar Das son of Nimai Chand Yadav is from Sriram Colony, Rauganj Vasa in Indore, Madhya Pradesh. Police revealed that along with the donated money, he also fled with a receipt book containing 32 sheets. The PRO added that a similar incident occurred in the past when an individual named Saurav had stolen donation money and a receipt book but passed away before the funds could be recovered.
