Kharagpur (The Uttam Hindu): Spring Fest, the annual social and cultural extravaganza of the Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur is back for its 66th edition. Known as one of Asia's largest cultural festivals organized entirely by students Spring Fest boasts an impressive online reach of over 2 million and attracts enthusiastic participants from more than 800 premier colleges across India. The three-day fest is a celebration of creativity, talent and sheer fun.

Highlights of Spring Fest

Hitch Hike: A Nationwide Success

The 65th edition of Spring Fest held from January 26–28, 2024 marked a resounding success with "Hitch Hike," the preliminary round of diverse artistic events. These included Dance, Drama, Music, Fashion and more conducted across 10 cities: Delhi, Mumbai, Pune, Bangalore, Hyderabad, Ahmedabad, Visakhapatnam, Lucknow, Jaipur and Chandigarh. Judges and participants alike contributed to an electrifying atmosphere.

Upcoming Elimination Rounds

After the success of the prelims the elimination rounds for Dance, Drama, Music, Fashion and Literary events will take place in six additional cities: Kolkata, Bhubaneswar, Patna, Ranchi, Guwahati and Raipur. Wildfire: The Battle of Bands

"Wildfire," the much-anticipated rock band competition is set to dazzle audiences in five cities: Mumbai, Bangalore, Delhi, Kolkata and Shillong. With prize money worth ₹1.5 lakhs, this premier event is a chance for rock bands to showcase their talent. Registrations are open at wildfire.springfest.in.

A Grand Showcase of Talent

Spring Fest 2025 will feature over 130 competitions across 13 genres offering participants a chance to compete for total cash prizes of approximately ₹35 lakhs. New events introduced this year aim to uncover hidden talents and offer unparalleled experiences.

Spring Fest also emphasizes social causes with last year’s initiative, "Prabal – Fighting Stronger, One Cell at a Time," addressing critical social, economic and environmental challenges faced by communities.
