New Delhi (The Uttam Hindu): Former Bihar Chief Minister Lalu Prasad Yadav has been admitted to AIIMS Delhi due to health issues. Reports confirm that he underwent surgery for wounds on his back, which was successful.

Meanwhile, a post from his account on social media platform X (formerly Twitter) has drawn attention. In the post, he criticized BJP and RSS supporters, stating that they aim to seize Muslim lands, but he has always supported and helped enact strict laws to protect Waqf properties.

Expressing regret over his absence from Parliament, he wrote that during this difficult time when minorities, the poor, Muslims, and the Constitution are under attack, he wishes he could be there to stand against it. However, he was pleased to see that his ideology and principles continue to inspire people.

Regarding the Waqf Amendment Bill, the government defended it in the Rajya Sabha, stating that the legislation is in the country's best interest and aims to prevent land mafias from exploiting Waqf properties. BJP President JP Nadda stated that the existing Waqf laws were being misused, causing harm to Muslims while benefiting land mafias. He clarified that the bill was not introduced for political or vote-bank reasons but to ensure proper management and accountability of Waqf properties.
