Horror Unfolds: 10 People Infected with HIV from a Single Syringe

New Delhi (The Uttam Hindu): A shocking incident has emerged from Kerala. In the Valanchery municipal area of Malappuram district, 10 people have tested HIV positive. Reports suggest that all of them were injected using the same syringe. The health department's investigation found that these individuals were drug users who injected drugs. Sharing the same syringe led to their infection. Among the 10 affected individuals, three are from different states in India, while the remaining seven are from Kerala. The police have also begun an investigation into the matter.

According to the health department’s initial findings, all HIV-infected individuals were drug addicts. One of them was already HIV positive, and the same syringe used by him was later shared by nine others for drug use. Health department officials confirmed that three of the infected individuals are migrant workers from other states.

All 10 infected persons are now under medical supervision. Additionally, health authorities will conduct tests on the family members of these patients to check for further infections.
