Haryana Clash Turns Deadly: Woman Burnt Alive Amid Rising Unrest in Nuh
Nuh(The Uttam Hindu): Tension gripped Laharwadi village in Haryana's Nuh district after a 32-year-old woman, Shehnaz, was burnt alive during a violent clash between two groups. The incident has triggered unrest in the region and the authorities have deployed additional police forces to restore order.
According to a complaint filed on Saturday, the violence was seen as a continuation of an old dispute over land that erupted nearly seven months ago in the village of Laharwadi. In the earlier altercation, a 21-year-old man, Rizwan, was killed. Police arrested the accused and filed a case after the murder. However, the accused party left the village. Seven months after the murder, they sought permission to return to the village. After a mediation by the Punhana police, both parties agreed, and the accused were allowed to re-enter under police supervision.
It is said that clashes took place between both the groups. During the altercation, petrol was poured on Shahnaz and she was set on fire. Shahnaz died on the spot. The family members of the girl have alleged that their daughter was murdered by her in-laws for dowry. The deceased was a divorcee and widower. She used to live at her father's house. A video of the two is going viral on social media. The families of the deceased are in shock. Some women are seen sprinkling petrol on another woman. It is being told that the woman on whom petrol is being poured is Shehnaaz. Rakesh Kumar, investigating officer, said, "We have just received word that a young woman is dead in the fire. The body has been taken for post-mortem. The case is being probed.".
