Deadly RTC Bus Collision in Anantapur: 7 Farm Laborers Killed, 4 Injured
New Delhi(The Uttam Hindu): A tragic accident occurred in the Thalagasapalle area of the Garldine Mandal in Anantapur district, Andhra Pradesh, when an RTC bus collided with an auto carrying farm laborers. The collision resulted in the deaths of seven individuals, while four others were critically injured.
According to the police, twelve agricultural laborers from Nellutla village in the Kuttaluru Mandal had boarded an auto to travel to Garldine for work. On their way back, the auto was struck by an RTC bus coming from the opposite direction. Two people died at the scene, two others succumbed to their injuries while being transported to the hospital, and three more died during treatment. The injured are receiving medical care at the Anantapur Government Hospital. Upon receiving the news, District SP Jagadish and DSP Venkateshwarulu visited the site. The police have detained the RTC bus driver for further investigation.
Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu expressed deep sorrow over the horrific accident in Thalagasapalle. He conveyed his condolences to the families of the deceased and assured that the state government stands by them. The Chief Minister also announced a compensation of Rs 5 lakh for each of the deceased's families. He instructed officials to ensure that the injured receive immediate medical attention and that relief efforts are carried out efficiently. Naidu also ordered a thorough investigation into the incident to prevent such accidents in the future. The police have launched an inquiry to determine the cause of the collision and to take action against those responsible.
