Explosion near LoC in Nowshera, Jammu and Kashmir; 6 army personnel injured
Nowshera (The Uttam Hindu): A mine explosion occurred near the Line of Control (LoC) in Nowshera, Jammu and Kashmir, injuring six army personnel. The blast took place in the Bhawani sector's Makri area, and the injured soldiers have been admitted to the Army Hospital in Rajouri for treatment.
This explosion is not the first such incident in Jammu and Kashmir in recent months. Earlier, on December 9, 2024, a tragic event occurred in Poonch when Havildar V. Subbaiya Varikunta of the 25 National Rifles was martyred in a landmine blast while patrolling the Thanedaar Tekri area. On the same day, security forces in the Pattan Palhalan area of Baramulla district defused an IED (Improvised Explosive Device), preventing a major disaster.
Additionally, in October 2024, two army soldiers were injured in a mine explosion near the LoC in Trehgam, Kupwara, while on patrol. These incidents highlight the ongoing threat of landmines and IEDs in border areas. Security forces remain vigilant and continue their efforts to neutralize these dangers.
