Ghaziabad (The Uttam Hindu) : The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) raided the residence of Dinesh Singh, Chief Manager (Law Manager) of Meerut's Bank of India branch, located in Gulmohar Society. The CBI seized important documents from his residence and questioned Dinesh for a long time. The CBI has registered a case of criminal conspiracy, cheating and corruption against Dinesh and panel bank advocate Supriya Mishra. They are accused of taking undue advantage from the auction buyer and influencing the judicial process.

Complaint was lodged in CBI

Rajiv Kumar of Meerut had filed a complaint with the CBI on 20 September 2024. Rajiv had alleged that he and his brother Sanjeev Kumar had taken a loan of Rs 48 lakh from Bank of India, Khair Nagar Meerut. This loan was taken by mortgaging the shop located in Khair Nagar Market. Due to non-payment of the loan, the bank declared it as non-performing asset (NPA) in the year 2014.

The bank auctioned the property

After this the bank auctioned the property. Shop numbers 418 and 419 (old numbers 135 and 154) were bought by Mohammad Suhail and Mohammad Saif. They alleged that Bank of India manager Dinesh Singh and panel advocate Supriya Mishra demanded undue benefits from the auction buyers Mohammad Suhail and Mohammad Saif.

CBI found many important documents from the house

At the same time, pressure was exerted on complainant Rajiv Kumar to give him undue advantage. Both the officers tried to influence the judicial process and take personal advantage to get a decision in their favour. After which the CBI registered a case against both of them. The CBI raided the manager's residence. Many important documents were seized from his house.

The High Court had also given the order

This matter also reached the High Court. On 29 February 2024, the Allahabad High Court had ordered that the possession of the disputed shop be given to Rajiv Kumar after ensuring payment of the remaining amount by the bank. Also on 5 September 2024, the High Court had also ordered that the bank will have to return the money to the auction buyers along with Marginal Cost of Funds Based Lending Rate (MCLR) interest.
