New Delhi (The Uttam Hindu): An important update for the residents of Delhi: Traffic will be disrupted for five days due to rehearsals for the Republic Day Parade which will begin on January 17. To prevent inconvenience to the public, the Delhi Police has issued a traffic advisory. As part of this arrangement, certain routes will be restricted or modified to ensure smooth rehearsals without causing any issues for commuters.

The advisory issued by the Delhi Police states that special traffic arrangements will be in place on January 17, 18, 20 and 21 during the rehearsals for the Republic Day Parade. Traffic will be halted between 10:15 AM and 12:30 PM at locations including the Kartavya Path-Rafi Marg Crossing, Kartavya Path-Janpath Crossing, Kartavya Path-Mansingh Road Crossing and Kartavya Path-C Hexagon.

Commuters traveling from North to South Delhi can use routes such as the Ring Road, Sarai Kale Khan, IP Flyover, Rajghat, Lajpat Rai Marg, Mathura Road, Bhairon Road, Ring Road, Aravindo Marg, Safdarjung Road, Kamal Attaturk Marg and Kotliya Marg. For those heading from East to Southwest Delhi, the Vande Mataram route on the Ring Road can be used. As per the advisory, drivers coming towards Vinay Marg, Shanti Path or heading to New Delhi and beyond should take alternative routes via Sardar Patel Marg, Mother Teresa Crescent, RML Gol Chakkar, Baba Kharak Singh Marg, or Park Street-Temple Marg to reach North Delhi or New Delhi. The Delhi Police has urged citizens to follow these routes and plan their travel keeping the traffic restrictions in mind.
