Atishi Accuses BJP of Promoting a "Gali-Galauj Party" with Ramesh Bidhuri’s CM Candidacy
New Delhi (The Uttam Hindu): Delhi Chief Minister Atishi on Friday slammed the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) for choosing Ramesh Bidhuri as its Chief Ministerial candidate, accusing the party of promoting a leader known for his use of abusive language. Atishi labeled the BJP as a “gali-galauj party,” saying that Delhi voters would have to choose between a well-educated, competent leader and a candidate who uses foul language.
Atishi revealed that according to reliable sources, the BJP had decided in an internal meeting to appoint Bidhuri, who is notorious for his offensive language, as their CM candidate. She claimed that this decision would be confirmed during the parliamentary committee meeting later in the day. Addressing the media, Atishi emphasized the stark contrast between Arvind Kejriwal, the AAP’s CM candidate, and Ramesh Bidhuri. She pointed out that Kejriwal, an IIT Kharagpur graduate and former IRS officer, has been responsible for the significant improvements in Delhi, including 24-hour electricity, water, better schools, free healthcare, and women’s welfare initiatives. In contrast, Atishi claimed, Ramesh Bidhuri is known for his abusive language and offensive remarks.
Atishi also brought attention to Bidhuri’s controversial behavior in Parliament and his history of disrespecting not only opposition leaders but also his own party members. She specifically mentioned the derogatory language Bidhuri used against Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi and herself, calling it inappropriate and unacceptable. Concluding her remarks, Atishi reiterated that Delhiites now have a clear choice: on one side, a well-educated and accomplished leader in Arvind Kejriwal, and on the other, Ramesh Bidhuri, known for his verbal abuse and lack of respect for people. She urged the people of Delhi to consider this contrast carefully when making their decision in the upcoming election.
