New Delhi (The Uttam Hindu): In a significant legal development a criminal court in Ludhiana, Punjab has issued an arrest warrant for Bollywood actor Sonu Sood in connection with a ₹10 lakh fraud case. The arrest order was issued by Judicial Magistrate Ramanpreet Kaur after Sood failed to appear in court to testify in the case which involves a complaint filed by Ludhiana-based lawyer Rajesh Khanna. Khanna alleges that he was duped into investing in a fraudulent cryptocurrency called Rijika coin.

Despite being duly served with summons, Sood has reportedly evaded the legal proceedings. In response the Oshiwara police station in Mumbai has been directed to arrest the actor and present him before the court. The next hearing in the matter is scheduled for February 10, 2025 and the police have been instructed to report back with confirmation on the execution of the arrest warrant by that date. On the professional front Sonu Sood recently stepped into the role of director with his action-packed thriller Fateh, which hit theaters on January 10, 2025. The film inspired by real-life cybercrimes during the COVID-19 pandemic marks his directorial debut.
