Army's Fierce Response After Pahalgam Attack: 6 Terrorist Hideouts Flattened, 2 Lashkar Aides Nabbed

Srinagar (The Uttam Hindu): Following the deadly terrorist attack in Pahalgam, security forces have intensified their operations across Jammu and Kashmir. A joint action by the army and police has been launched to locate and neutralize the terrorists involved. In a decisive move, the army has destroyed six houses belonging to suspected terrorists since Friday.

Alongside the military operations, the police have detained several individuals to gather critical information regarding the attack. In a major success, two terrorist associates affiliated with Lashkar-e-Taiba were arrested from Thorakpora in the Qaimoh area of Kulgam district.

The arrested individuals, identified as overground workers of Lashkar, were reportedly assigned to execute target killings in the region. Acting swiftly, a joint team of police, army, and CRPF set up a checkpoint at Koymu on the Srinagar-Jammu national highway. During routine checking, two young men attempting to evade the checkpoint were apprehended. Upon searching them, security forces recovered two pistols, two magazines, 26 cartridges, and other incriminating materials. Officials confirmed that the prompt action foiled a major terrorist conspiracy.
Meanwhile, in North Kashmir’s Bandipora district, an overground worker linked to Hizbul Mujahideen was killed during an encounter. Two policemen sustained injuries in the gunfight. The deceased, identified as Altaf Lali, was the brother of Talib Lali, a Hizbul terrorist currently imprisoned for the past 12 years. Security forces have launched a massive search operation to track down the terrorists who managed to escape during the encounter.
The army continues to comb every corner of Kashmir in pursuit of terrorists, with six houses already demolished as part of the intensified crackdown.
