Mumbai (The Uttam Hindu): Former *Bigg Boss* contestant and actor, Ajaz Khan, contested the Maharashtra Assembly elections from the Versova seat on the ticket of the Azad Samaj Party (Kanshiram), led by Nagina MP Chandrashekhar Azad. However, in a surprising turn of events during the vote counting, Ajaz has managed to secure only 155 votes so far, while the NOTA (None of the Above) option has garnered around 1,298 votes.

The ruling BJP-led alliance, Mahayuti, is leading in the state, with several seats showing strong trends in their favor. However, one seat in particular, Versova, has sparked considerable discussion. Ajaz Khan, who has long styled himself as Mumbai's 'Bhaijaan,' failed to gain traction among voters. In the early rounds, Haroon, a candidate from a different party, is leading with 32,499 votes, surpassing BJP’s Bharti, who has secured 25,643 votes.

Despite having a massive social media following of 5.6 million, Ajaz Khan has failed to convert his fame into electoral success. The Versova seat, traditionally a Congress stronghold, saw a total of 16 candidates vying for the position, with Ajaz ultimately facing a crushing defeat.

Ajaz Khan, originally from Ahmedabad, Gujarat, is known for his roles in popular TV shows like *Diya Aur Baati Hum* and *Karam Apna Apna*, as well as films like *Rakt Charitra* and *Allah Ke Bande*. However, he has also been mired in controversies, including a stint in jail for drug possession. His participation in *Bigg Boss 7* and his ongoing controversial persona have kept him in the media spotlight.
