Billawar (The Uttam Hindu): In Billawar, the temporary employees of the Jal Shakti Department, who had been on strike for eight days under the banner of PHE United Front, returned to work on Friday. The resumption of their duties followed assurances from Javed Ahmed Rana, the Minister of Jal Shakti Department. This brought much-needed relief to the residents as the drinking water supply was restored to most areas of Billawar sub-division.

The strike had caused major disruptions, leaving over 50% of the subdivision without access to drinking water. Residents in affected areas had to rely on natural water sources to meet their needs. However, with the strike now called off, temporary workers returned to their posts, and operations resumed at previously halted pumping stations. As a result, drinking water supply was quickly restored, easing the hardships faced by the people.
