Clear Weather and Rising Temperatures in Himachal Pradesh; Avalanche Warning Issued for High Altitude Areas

New Delhi (The Uttam Hindu): On Thursday, clear skies and abundant sunshine prevailed across Himachal Pradesh, including Shimla. Bilaspur recorded a maximum temperature of 30 degrees Celsius. Meanwhile, the Defense Geoinformatics Research Establishment (DGRE), under the Union Defense Ministry, issued an avalanche warning for regions including Kullu, Lahaul-Spiti, Kinnaur, and Chamba, as well as Jammu-Kashmir and Ladakh.
Despite the weather clearing, 99 roads remain blocked in Lahaul Valley and Kullu, continuing to cause travel difficulties. While rain and snowfall are expected in the higher altitude areas of the state on Friday, other regions are likely to remain clear. The weakening of the western disturbance has led to a rise in both maximum and minimum temperatures across the state, and further temperature increases are expected in the coming days.
On Wednesday night, the minimum temperatures recorded across various locations were as follows: Tabo at -5.8°C, Keylong at -5.1°C, Kukumseri at -3.9°C, Kalpa at -0.9°C, Manali at 2.9°C, Dharamsala at 5.3°C, Dalhousie at 6.1°C, Solan at 7.7°C, Bilaspur at 8.2°C, Mandi at 8.5°C, Kangra at 9.6°C, and Shimla at 10.0°C.
