Bike Riders Shoot at Dhaba Operator in Himachal Pradesh; SIT Formed for Investigation

New Delhi (The Uttam Hindu): On Friday night, two unknown bike riders shot at a Dhaba operator in Pulgharat, Mandi district, Himachal Pradesh. The operator was lucky to escape with minor injuries, as the bullet grazed his hand and cheek. According to authorities, the two attackers from Punjab had come to the Dhaba to get food packed. After receiving their order, they snatched cash from the operator and also took an LED from the counter. When the operator protested, one of the attackers fired a shot, hitting him in the hand and grazing his cheek.
The injured Dhaba operator, Pradeep Guleria, who was admitted to Nerchowk Medical College, recounted the incident, stating that the attackers had asked for food to be packed for three people. Upon returning to the counter, he discovered that both the cash and the CCTV LED were missing. One of the attackers then drew a pistol, demanding all the money. When Guleria refused, the attacker fired a shot, injuring him.
SP Sakshi Verma confirmed the incident, stating that the police were working to trace the bike's number plate. In response to the incident, the government has formed a Special Investigation Team (SIT) to investigate the case. The SIT, led by Additional Superintendent of Police Mandi Sachin Hiremath, is actively working on the case.
CCTV footage from the scene, which was released following the attack, shows the bike rider wearing a white cap and the young man sitting behind him sporting a black helmet. The footage has become crucial evidence as the authorities track down the attackers.
As the investigation unfolds, the residents of Pulgharat are left in shock, and the local community hopes for swift justice. The Dhaba operator, recovering from the traumatic incident, reflects on the terrifying night that left him shaken but thankful to be alive. Meanwhile, the police are intensifying their search for the perpetrators, with the hope that this crime will not go unpunished.
