SP Varun Singla Warns Public About Growing Cyber Crimes

New Delhi (The Uttam Hindu): Superintendent of Police Varun Singla emphasized the police department's ongoing efforts to raise awareness about cyber crimes and how the public can protect themselves. "Our teams are actively engaging with people in various ways to spread awareness. We are regularly visiting villages to organize programs and educate the public about the risks of cyber crime," said SP Singla.
He stressed that everyone connected to the digital world is a potential target for cyber criminals, whether through social media, online banking, or other digital platforms. "Cyber criminals have adapted with the times and are constantly evolving their tactics," he warned.
SP Singla explained that scammers often use social media platforms to send friend requests, fake pension schemes, or offer loans through fraudulent apps. By hacking into accounts or creating fake identities, these criminals exploit unsuspecting people for their personal gain. He urged the public to stay vigilant and cautious while interacting online to avoid falling victim to such scams.
