Haryana Forms Four-Member Committee to Propose New Districts, Sub-Divisions, and Tehsils; Report Due in 3 Months
Chandigarh (The Uttam Hindu): A 4-member committee has been formed to create new districts, sub-divisions, tehsils and sub-tehsils in Haryana. This committee will study the matter in three months and submit a report to the Haryana government. Cabinet Minister Krishna Lal Panwar has been made the chairman of this four-member committee to create new districts, sub-divisions, tehsils and sub-tehsils in the Bharatiya Janata Party-ruled Haryana. If needed, the committee can also add some MLAs.
The exercise to create new districts, sub-divisions, tehsils and sub-tehsils in the state has started again. The committee formed for this will submit its report regarding the change in the administrative boundary of the district, tehsil and towns. The order to form the committee has been issued by the Finance Commissioner Revenue and Additional Chief Secretary of Revenue and Disaster Department Anurag Rastogi.
According to the need, some MLAs can also be considered to be included in the committee. Apart from all this, the Finance Commissioner and the Principal Secretary of the Development and Panchayat Department will help the committee in preparing the report. It is known that earlier a committee was formed for this work.
In fact, before the assembly elections, a committee was formed in June under the chairmanship of the then cabinet minister Kanwar Pal Gurjar. Jai Prakash Dalal, Mahipal Dhanda and Subhash Sudha were present in it. But due to the defeat of Kanwar Pal Gurjar, JP Dalal and Subhash Sudha in the elections, the Saini government had to reconstitute this committee.
There has been a demand for a long time to make Assandh of Karnal, Dabwali of Sirsa, Manesar of Gurugram and Hansi of Hisar as districts. However, at present Hansi and Dabwali are police districts and there will not be much hindrance in making them normal districts.
