Fraudulent Women Steal Jewellery Worth Rs 4.5 Lakh from Faridabad Showroom

New Delhi (The Uttam Hindu): In a case of theft, two women posed as potential buyers and stole jewellery worth Rs 4.5 lakh from a showroom in Faridabad. The incident occurred on March 19 when the jeweller, the owner of Shri Ram Jewellers in Bhupani village, had stepped out to buy medicine, leaving his wife Divya in charge of the showroom.
According to the victim’s statement, the two women entered the shop and requested to see a gold ring. As Divya showed them a variety of rings, the women asked to see earrings as well. While Divya bent down to retrieve the box of earrings, one woman took several rings from the counter, pretending to examine them, while the other distracted Divya by asking her questions. The first woman then hid the stolen jewellery in a handkerchief, and the two continued browsing, opening boxes with rings and earrings.
After a prolonged period of pretending to browse, the women claimed they didn’t like any of the jewellery and left the shop. It wasn’t until Divya began packing up the items on the counter that she noticed jewellery was missing. A gold jhaale weighing one tola, an 8-gram ring, and an earring were found to be stolen.
The jeweller has registered a case with the police based on Divya's complaint, and investigations are underway to identify the suspects.
