Woman caught with ₹2.30 lakh after extorting ₹13.50 lakh through threats of a rape case

Ukalana (The Uttam Hindu): A woman has been accused of extorting ₹13.5 lakh from Satish Dhanak, the younger brother of former Haryana minister Anoop Dhanak, by threatening to file a rape case against him. Frustrated by her continuous demands and blackmail, Satish Dhanak finally approached the police for help. Law enforcement has since registered a case against three individuals, arresting the woman in the act as she attempted to collect ₹2.30 lakh.

According to Satish Dhanak's complaint at the Uklana police station, he lives with his brother and is involved in political work. The incident began approximately two years ago when the woman approached him under the pretense of needing assistance with her MNREGA paperwork. After several meetings, during which Satish provided her with help, she allegedly developed feelings for him. When he rejected her advances and ceased communication, the woman began sending threatening messages.

Despite initially complying with some of her demands, including payments of ₹6.5 lakh in May 2023 and subsequent payments in September, the woman continued to press for more money. Satish was warned by acquaintances that the woman intended to publicize the allegations to damage his family's reputation during the upcoming elections. On October 3, she and an associate reportedly demanded ₹25 lakh, threatening to expose him if he refused. Eventually, police apprehended the woman during a sting operation. She is now under investigation for multiple charges, including extortion.
