Chandigarh (The Uttam Hindu): Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini met with Prime Minister Narendra Modi in New Delhi to discuss various developmental projects and initiatives. Following the meeting at Haryana Bhawan, Saini expressed confidence that the "double-engine" government—referring to both Haryana and the Central Government—would enhance the pace of development in the state. During the meeting, the Prime Minister stressed the importance of expediting development efforts to improve citizens' lives. Previously, Saini had discussions with Union Minister of Housing and Urban Affairs Manohar Lal Khattar and Union Minister of Road, Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari, leading to the approval of several key projects.

The Chief Minister reiterated his commitment to advancing Haryana's development, outlining plans to expand the Metro rail and the Regional Rapid Transit System (RRTS) in Gurugram. This also includes extending the RRTS from Sarai Kale Khan to Panipat and further to Karnal. To alleviate traffic congestion, a network of new roads is being constructed across Haryana. When asked about women's representation in the Haryana Assembly, Saini noted that PM Modi launched the 'Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao' campaign in Panipat, Haryana, highlighting the Central Government's focus on empowering women over the past decade. He mentioned the recent passage of the 'Nari Shakti Vandan Adhiniyam,' which aims to enhance women's roles in governance, allowing more women to participate in Legislative Assemblies.

Saini described the 'Nari Shakti Vandan Adhiniyam' as a significant initiative from the Prime Minister to empower women, enabling them to reach new heights. He also emphasized projects like 'Drone Didi' and the support of women’s self-help groups as part of the government's commitment to skill and uplift women across India. Regarding paddy procurement, the Chief Minister instructed officials to ensure the procurement of every grain of paddy with moisture content up to 17 percent. He warned that strict action would be taken against any complaints related to this issue.
