BJP Assigns Key Election Responsibilities to Anil Vij and Aseem Goyal in Ambala

Ambala (The Uttam Hindu): The BJP has intensified its preparations for the upcoming municipal elections in Ambala, strategically assigning key responsibilities to senior leaders. The party has appointed Cabinet Minister Anil Vij as the coordinator for the Municipal Council elections in Ambala Cantt and the city’s mayoral by-election. Former state minister Aseem Goyal has also been made a coordinator for the city mayor election, signalling an effort to bridge the gap between the two leaders.
In its recent announcement, the BJP released a list of coordinators, further strengthening Vij’s position within the party. This move is seen as a strategic step to unify party leaders under the pretext of elections. The impact of this was evident earlier when the BJP formed an election campaign committee for the civic elections. Vij, Goyal, and Kalka MLA Shakti Rani Sharma were entrusted with responsibilities for both the mayor election and the Municipal Council elections in Ambala Cantt.
While Goyal has remained active in BJP politics in Ambala city, Vij has largely stayed away. Even during assembly elections, Vij maintained distance from city politics, focusing solely on his own constituency.
