Punjabi actress's father arrested in Jalandhar, court remands him to jail for 14 days
Jalandhar (The Uttam Hindu): In a significant development from Jalandhar district, Kuldeep Khurana, the father of Punjabi actor Himanshi Khurana, has been sentenced to 14 days in jail by the Phillaur Court. The case stems from an incident that occurred five months ago during the Lok Sabha elections in Goraya. Kuldeep Khurana was accused of verbally abusing and physically assaulting Naib Tehsildar Jagpal Singh, who was performing his official duties at the time.
The incident took place when Naib Tehsildar Jagpal Singh was leaving his office to attend to his duties. Kuldeep Khurana allegedly approached him and began to verbally assault him. A staff member present during the altercation captured the entire incident on video. This footage became key evidence in the case, leading the police to file charges against Kuldeep Khurana for obstructing government duties.
The police registered the case based on the complaint lodged by Naib Tehsildar Jagpal Singh. SHO Palwinder Singh of Goraya police station confirmed the arrest and subsequent legal proceedings. Following the investigation and court hearings, Kuldeep Khurana was presented before the court, which decided to send him to jail for 14 days.
This case has drawn considerable attention, particularly due to the involvement of a well-known public figure's family. Despite the actor's association with the incident, the case focuses on Kuldeep Khurana’s alleged misconduct during his altercation with the Naib Tehsildar while he was carrying out his duties.
