New Delhi (The Uttam Hindu): John Abraham, known for avoiding public events like trailer launches, is taking a different approach for his upcoming film The Diplomat. Instead of attending typical promotional events, he is meeting journalists individually, sharing insights about the film alongside its director, Shivam Nair.

In a recent interview, John not only discussed The Diplomat but also reflected on an incident from last year at the trailer launch of Veda. For the first time, he admitted it was his fault. "I should not have reacted in that way. That ‘poor guy’ was just doing his job. I realized my mistake and I apologize for it," John said, acknowledging his inappropriate response to a journalist’s question during the event.

The filming of The Diplomat, based on the life of Indian Foreign Service officer J.P. Singh, who was posted in Pakistan, was completed last year. John praised director Shivam Nair for his meticulous attention to detail, saying, "Shivam is passionate about editing every scene flawlessly." He also expressed how impressed he was with Shivam's preparation and how, along with acting coach Saurabh Sachdeva, they worked together to fully understand the character before filming began.

John also reflected on how age has changed his approach to conflict. "Yes, I don’t get angry as much now. I still speak my mind, but I’ve learned to present my thoughts more diplomatically," he said, highlighting his personal growth.

The Diplomat, set to release on March 14, tells the story of an Indian diplomat in Pakistan marking an exciting new chapter in John Abraham’s career.
