Brandon Garrett sues Nicki Minaj for alleged assault and emotional distress on pink friday 2 tour
Los Angeles (The Uttam Hindu): American rapper Nicki Minaj is facing a lawsuit filed by her former employee Brandon Garrett, who claims the Grammy-nominated artist assaulted him backstage following a concert in Detroit on April 21. Garrett who worked as a day-to-day manager for Minaj’s Pink Friday 2 tour, alleges that Minaj struck him multiple times during the confrontation. In the lawsuit filed in Los Angeles Superior Court Garrett recounts that he had just completed an errand for Minaj when he received a text from her head of security, Larry Dathan, asking him to meet the rapper in her dressing room. Upon arrival, Garrett states that Minaj and eight members of her staff were present. According to Garrett, Minaj became upset about the staff’s organizational issues and turned her attention to another employee, Luke Montgomery, questioning his role.
Garrett claims Montgomery explained his duties, which included logistical tasks like setting up the venue’s dressing room arranging private jets and hotels as well as fulfilling requests for food, drinks and prescriptions. Garrett explains that he had asked Montgomery to pick up the prescriptions because he was busy assisting Minaj during her performances. In response to the allegations, Minaj’s lawyer, Judd Burstein, vehemently denied the charges, calling the lawsuit "completely false and frivolous." He emphasized that Minaj had not been formally served with the complaint and expressed confidence that the lawsuit would be resolved in her favor.
