New Delhi (The Uttam Hindu): The controversy surrounding stand-up comedian Samay Raina's show 'India's Got Latent' is not taking the name of stopping. This entire controversy started after a new episode of the show was released recently. In this episode, a statement made by Ranveer Allahabadia has led to a strong reaction. Following this statement, cases have been registered against Allahabadia and the show's team in Delhi and Mumbai. Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma has also confirmed that a case has been registered against the team in Assam as well. In view of the growing controversy, the controversial episode has now been removed from YouTube. The move has been taken following the direction of the National Human Rights Commission (NHRC). The NHRC had ordered YouTube to remove the video and sought a response in the matter within three days.
After the case was registered, Mumbai Police has contacted Samay Raina and Ranveer Allahabadia in connection with the 'India's Got Talent' show case. The police have asked both of them to cooperate and present their side by appearing before the investigating officers. According to reports, a team of Versova Police reached Ranveer Allahabadia's house, where he may be questioned. There is growing public outrage over the comments made during the show. Ranveer Allahabadia, who asked the objectionable question on Samay Raina's show, has apologized for his comments through a post on social media. He wrote that his comments were "not only inappropriate, but also not humorous." He further said, "Comedy is not my specialty. I am here only to apologize and will not make any excuses for it." Since the episode aired, social media users have demanded a ban on Ranveer Allahabadia and 'India's Got Latent'. Many users have also started unsubscribing Ranveer. Netizens say that the popularity Allahabadia is getting is not justified. Although Ranveer has apologized, Samay Raina is yet to react to the controversy
